We’re looking for a midwife who values steady, thoughtful, relationship-centered care. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in their clinical skills, communicates clearly, and works well in a small, collaborative team. You’ll provide care throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period while helping us maintain a calm, organized environment for families.

Your work will involve hands-on clinical care, patient education, and consistent documentation. We’re looking for someone who is attentive, reliable, and comfortable supporting families through the full spectrum of the midwifery model.

Responsibilities: 

• Provide prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum care within the birth center setting
• Complete thorough assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and evaluation of maternal and fetal well-being
• Support labor and birth, including clinical skills such as suturing, medication administration, IV starts, and other routine procedures
• Monitor fetal heart tones and maternal vital signs during labor
• Document care clearly and accurately in our electronic health record
• Offer education on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, contraception, and reproductive health
• Collect and process basic lab specimens when needed
• Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care
• Work closely with the team to ensure continuity, safety, and a supportive experience for families
• Maintain compliance with birth center standards, patient safety guidelines, and confidentiality requirements

Requirements

• Current New Mexico Licensed Midwife or Certified Nurse-Midwife license
• Competence in basic clinical skills such as suturing, venipuncture, specimen collection, and medication administration
• Familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to perform thorough assessments and communicate findings clearly
• Understanding of privacy and confidentiality standards
• Strong communication skills and a supportive bedside manner
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a close-knit team and maintain a steady, grounded presence
