Hello! My name is Kate Pults, and I am a Licensed & Certified Professional Midwife based in Roswell, New Mexico. I am the owner and Clinical Director of Three Suns Birth & Maternal Wellness Center, a freestanding birth center dedicated to providing evidence-based, compassionate, and family-centered care.
I have been a birth worker since 2019, serving families across North Carolina, New Mexico, and Washington.
My approach to care honors both evidence-based practice and traditional midwifery wisdom. In addition to being a Licensed and Certified Professional Midwife, I am also a Clinical Herbalist with additional training in Spinning Babies®, functional medicine, and functional laboratory analysis, and I have completed the Breech Without Borders training. I hold a deep respect for both holistic and allopathic medicine, recognizing the essential roles of each in comprehensive, whole-person healthcare.
As a preceptor for New Mexico State, NARM, and the National College of Midwifery, I am passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of midwives. Beyond clinical education, I have been active in maternal health policy and advocacy through my work with the New Mexico Doula Association (NMDA), collaborating with state legislators and agencies to advance doula access, Medicaid inclusion, midwife pay parity, and improved standards of perinatal care.
I also served as a PAILAdvocate (Pregnancy and Infant Loss Advocate) from 2020–2022 and as a bereavement doula, providing compassionate support to families navigating miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. These experiences have deepened my belief that true maternal healthcare must honor not only the body, but also the mind and spirit.
I was born and raised in Washington State, and I am Wyandotte. My given name is Iyamędayah. I have been happily married to my wonderful and supportive husband since 2016, and together we have three beautiful boys, ages 10, 7, and 6—two of whom were born at home with midwives. Having experienced both a hospital birth and two empowering, peaceful home births, I discovered my true calling and lifelong passion: to be a midwife and to serve mothers in the same way I was blessed to be served.

I’m honored to serve our community as both a patient coordinator and student midwife at Three Suns Birth and Maternal Wellness. Before entering the birth world, I spent seven years working in cardiology. That experience gave me a strong clinical foundation—but more importantly, it taught me to listen closely, think clearly under pressure,
I’m honored to serve our community as both a patient coordinator and student midwife at Three Suns Birth and Maternal Wellness. Before entering the birth world, I spent seven years working in cardiology. That experience gave me a strong clinical foundation—but more importantly, it taught me to listen closely, think clearly under pressure, care for people in vulnerable moments, and never stop learning.
My passion for birth work took root in my journey through motherhood, though it took time, and many life chapters, before I found myself on this path. Those early experiences shaped how I view healthcare, fueling my commitment to informed choice and autonomy, especially in rural communities like ours where options are often limited.
This calling continues to teach me what it truly means to support and empower women throughout pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. I feel incredibly lucky to learn from Midwife Kate and Midwife Julie, who embody the grounded, respectful approach to birthwork that inspires me daily.
